Role: Receive and process real estate and consumer loan applications and make loan decisions according to credit union policies and secondary market requirements. Build relationships with members in a manner which supports the credit union's mission statement. Develop outside relationships to gain referral partners and foster growth. Present a friendly, professional and personable attitude that communicates to members, staff and visitors that the credit union is a friendly and professional financial institution.
Experience: Three years' consecutive experience as Loan Officer/Financial Services Representative or minimum of five years' direct experience and skill in the areas of real estate lending or a related field. Formal training should be supplemented with continuing education.
Education: Job requires a four-year college level of language, math and reasoning skills; or a two year college degree; or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school; or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
Work Environment: The job is scheduled during normal credit union business hours. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Requires the ability to work flexible hours. The Job requires limited physical effort. It is basically a desk assignment. The job calls for a high degree of mental concentration to interpret and act upon a wide range of situations. The job requires a high degree of attention to details.
